PRESS

What are you most looking forward to at this year’s festival?
"There’s a wonderful documentary about Noga Erez, who is an Israeli rapper and singer. She was at Coachella this year, and has blown up since we first saw her documentary. I’m looking forward to seeing her film with an audience, and then seeing her perform. She’s absolutely electric."
- Jane Rosenthal, The New York Times interview

"[Noga] feels urgent. At a time of cultural boycotts, polarizing politics, and surging hate, artists — even those who protest the abuses of their government’s leaders — become targets.... Noga isn’t a political film, nor is it a pat music documentary, the type that claims to offer an unvarnished lens on the creative process but is essentially a marketing tool. The film is a tight, three-year snapshot of a couple on the crest of stardom, navigating war and white-knuckling the ups and downs of their own creative and romantic partnership."
- Rolling Stone

"Through one individual's story, the film explores universal themes of antisemitism, art, relationships, and uncompromising conviction with remarkable nuance."
- THE SPOT media & film

"It's not a problem if you've never heard the name Noga Erez before. But once you've encountered her music for the first time, especially after watching this portrait documentary about her and her musical and life partner, Ori Rousso, you won't be able to get either her or her music out of your head... Rather than presenting a smooth retelling of an artistic journey as a success story that only ever moves upward, the film makes room for setbacks, self-doubt, and contradictions, elements that both protagonists are aware of and consciously embrace."
- Kino Zeit

"For fans of Noga Erez, Noga is essential viewing. But even audiences unfamiliar with her or her music will come away having met a fascinating artist—someone who refuses easy answers in her relationship with herself, her art, and her country."
- Programmkino

"...[a] fast-paced, engrossing, candid, and expertly crafted documentary that will make you fall in love with both her and her music — if you haven't already."
- Mako

"With extraordinary intimacy, Jono and Benji Bergmann tell the story of an artist who refuses to be defined by others or silenced. NOGA is an intimate, multilayered, and timely portrait of stardom — and of the courage to follow one's own path even as the world begins to unravel... NOGA chronicles an extraordinary rise to international acclaim amid political upheaval and personal challenges, revealing one of the defining dilemmas of our time: balancing political discourse, public expectations, cancel culture, and the desire for artistic freedom and self-determination. The result is a powerful portrait of an artist striving to redefine her place in an increasingly polarized and unstable world."
- SteinbrennerMüller
