SYNOPSIS
TOP OF THE WORLD tells the story of Windows on the World, the legendary restaurant atop the World Trade Center, an institution that rose like a beacon of hope for a struggling New York City in the 1970s and came to an end on September 11, 2001 when the terrorist attacks killed all 79 Windows employees working that day.
Drawing on the voices of Windows employees spanning the restaurant’s 25 years in operation, the film highlights the glamour and spectacle of the fine food and wine world. And it introduces viewers to the talented staff of immigrants from around the globe who were the heart and soul of Windows.
It’s a never-before-seen portrait of the Twin Towers as well as a celebration of a bygone era and the individuals whose relentless pursuit of perfection created magic up in the sky.
